THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS MD ANDERSON CANCER CENTER Department of Behavioral Science in the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences is accepting applications for an open rank, term tenure track position in the following two areas: Energy Balance - Behavioral and pharmacological treatment of obesity, diet and physical activity, psychological aspects of treatment, weight management compliance, caloric restriction and intermittent fasting, endocrine and metabolic mechanisms associated with obesity and other related areas of energy balance. Mobile Health - Development and application of new and emerging digital health technologies (e.g., mobile, wireless and sensor technology, online social networks, machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data) for behavioral assessment and intervention in cancer prevention and survivorship. Target populations may include the general population, those with chronic medical comorbidities, minority and underserved, as well the cancer patient populations. The successful candidate will participate actively in the Department of Behavioral Science’s robust research portfolio which includes: nicotine psychopharmacology, smoking cessation, genetics of nicotine dependence, youth tobacco use prevention, affective neuroscience, psychosocial oncology, energy balance, biopsychosocial influences on cancer outcomes, adherence to complex regimens, caregiver and dyadic intervention mind-body medicine, mobile and sensor applications for assessment and interventions, genetic and genomic testing, skin cancer prevention and/or other areas related to cancer prevention and survivorship.
