The Meyer-Chabris Lab in Geisinger’s Department of Bioethics and Decision Sciences is seeking an outstanding researcher for a position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The postdoc will carry out collaborative behavioral science research studying beliefs, attitudes, and decision-making on topics related to medicine and healthcare, especially issues related to the use of RCTs, unproven interventions, AI, predictive models, and genetic data. Areas of interest in the lab include: – How people evaluate tradeoffs between different features of predictive models (e.g. accuracy, fairness, explainability) – Patient and clinician attitudes toward unproven treatments like medical marijuana – Experiment aversion – Public understanding of topics like genetics, scientific research, and new technologies The postdoc will be encouraged to propose and lead studies within or related to these broad areas, and will report to Professors Christopher Chabris, PhD, and Michelle Meyer, PhD, JD,...
