CLINICAL-RESEARCH POST-DOCTORAL POSITION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH, SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY: This is a multifaceted post-doc opportunity to learn about the life-long impact of very early-onset depressive disorders  on psychosocial functioning and cardiovascular health in multiple generations of subjects and the role of maladaptive emotion regulation as a salient risk factor for these disorders. Our newest project focuses on the longitudinal trajectories of mood repair and its psychophysiology up to middle-age among adults with juvenile-onset depressive disorders (and healthy controls), and the role of decision making in emotion regulation. Training opportunities include attendance in Departmental seminars, learning about cardiac psychophysiology (autonomic nervous system processes) and its assessment, and improving skills relevant to producing scientific articles and grant applications. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing psychiatric diagnostic assessments and assuring quality control, along with coordinating some other aspects of our newest project. The incumbent also will be expected to conduct some research clinical interviews with adults and arrive at DSM diagnoses: if appropriate, he/she also will receive clinical supervision that can be used toward license certification. Duties may include additional tasks and span multiple projects. Requirements are: doctorate in clinical psychology or related field, 3+ years of clinical exposure including experience with standardized diagnostic assessment procedures, preferably in psychiatric settings with adults; 2-3 years of experience in an academic clinical research setting, preferably in research coordination, and familiarity with the clinical and experimental literature on depression. Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and supervisory skills are essential. A multi-year commitment is expected. Postdoc in Clinical Science: Emotion, Stress & Psychopathology
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University invites applications for a post-doctoral research position in clinical science. The successful candidate will become part of a multi-disciplinary investigation to understand affective and behavioral predictors of psychological risk. Specifically, this research program, led by Dr. Karin Coifman, aims to examine the association between emotion response behavior and risk for affective disease following aversive life events. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be expected to coordinate a new 5-year NIMH funded project that aims to investigate the role of emotion flexibility in psychological adaptation following traumatic injury, as well as to assist with other existing data collection efforts ,  related manuscript preparation, grant development, and to develop new lines of inquiry based on current findings.   This position offers the opportunity to develop an integrated research program and enhance skills necessary for a successful academic career in clinical science. Pending final grant funding, the position is a minimum of two years. Postdoctoral Associate Position at the Rutgers GSAPP Center for Psychological Services Position Description The Center for Psychological Services at the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) announces an opening for a full-time, 2-Year (1-year renewable for a 2nd year) postdoctoral associate.  The post-doctoral associate will be involved in providing direct clinical services, supervision of graduate students and assisting the Director and Assistant Director with administration of the training center.  The Center for Psychological Services Located at the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP), the Center for Psychological Services (CPS), has been in operation since 1929. CPS a large-training center for doctoral students and post-doctoral associates providing psychotherapeutic, educational, and career service opportunities to a diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of psychological problems and difficulties.  There are a number of specialty programs that operate within the Center, including clinics for anxiety disorders, dialectical behavior therapy, couples therapy, Tourette syndrome, youth anxiety and depression, ADHD, and youth in foster care.   Responsibilities Assist in the oversight of programming and day-to-day operations of the Center for Psychological Services including but not limited to the following: Provide oversight, training and supervision of Center Coordinators and Liaisons Developing strategies and programming to improve training for students and service delivery for clients Provide oversight and training on clinic documentation, EMR and ensure compliance of Center policies and procedures Overseeing and providing clinical supervision Providing outreach to community and other university departments to aid in recruitment and retention of supervisors and clients Updating clinic materials including policy and procedures documentation, consents, brochures, advertisements, website, etc. Assist with generating reports for Faculty Clinic Advisory Committee and others requestors, including grants and contracts Coordinate with specialty clinics and ancillary programs and staff to promote integration Provide assistance with student clinic advisory committees Provide individual, group and/or family therapy and psychological assessments   Serve as a supervisory key member of the assessment team and perform the following duties including but not limited to: Under supervision, supervise doctoral student assessments of children and adults who present with a wide range of ADHD, learning issues, and social-emotional disorders Oversee and provide clinical supervision for the assessment peer supervision program Provide didactics for peer supervisors and assessment team members Collaborate with the Rutgers University Office of Disability Services (ODS) to ensure psychological testing requirements are met for students needing academic accommodations Coordinate procedures with the Assessment Coordinator and Test Kit Liaison   Conduct psychotherapy and Psychological Assessments Conduct weekly psychological and neuropsychological assessments Conduct weekly individual and/or group psychotherapy   Participate in the following: Weekly Staff Meetings Weekly Supervision by Licensed Psychologists Qualifications Completion of PhD or PsyD in Clinical and/or School Psychology Significant knowledge of and experience in conducting psychological assessments using a wide range of assessment measures Excellent report writing and organizational skills An interest in learning about clinic administration Past experience coordinating programs and/or providing supervision preferred Compensation $41,667 annual salary, 15 days paid time off (in addition to university holidays), and a full health benefits package. Post-doctoral Position - Multi-modal neuroimaging Research
The Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking a qualified PhD for a post-doctoral position in multimodal neuroimaging research focused on emotional and reward processes in adolescents. The research program is headed by Uma Rao, MD, who has multidisciplinary expertise that spans several scientific disciplines on biobehavioral processes associated with adolescent development and psychopathology. Populations of interest include typically developing youth, victims of childhood abuse, and youth with mood disorders. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art brain imaging facilities and computational resources at UCI. Data from ongoing research projects and existing datasets are available for publications. The successful candidate will develop a program that contributes to, and complements, ongoing research studies. Candidates must have a PhD and research experience in affective or cognitive neuroscience, brain development, cognitive science, psychology, or related fields. Experience with human neuroimaging, expertise in structural or functional MRI data analysis, strong computational skills and publication record are highly desirable. Postdoctoral Research Fellow
A two-year postdoctoral research fellowship is available at the Department of Psychology at Wesleyan University.  We seek an outstanding researcher with a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field, interested in collaborating in our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.  The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Kyungmi Kim and Dr. Charles Sanislow on research projects that investigate memory, perception, and other cognitive/affective processes relevant to self-related processing.  The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to research the mechanisms associated with these processes and also interested in clarifying disruptions in these mechanisms pertinent to clinical problems.  This position is well suited for a recent Ph.D. graduate committed to working at the intersection of cognitive and clinical science.  Methods could include behavioral and cognitive neuroscience approaches (e.g., memory test paradigms, cognitive/perceptual tasks, EEG/ERP).  The fellow will be involved in all aspects of research including study development, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of research findings, will teach an undergraduate seminar one semester each year in their area of interest, and have the opportunity to mentor exceptional undergraduates involved in research.  This fellowship is designed to prepare the fellow to compete successfully for a tenure-track position in cognitive psychology and/or experimental psychopathology, and includes training and supervision to develop an independent research program and to mentor and teach undergraduates.  Wesleyan is a selective liberal arts institution with faculty actively engaged in innovative research.
