Area of Research: Social Psychology, Cognitive Science Description of duties : Ph.D. students expecting to receive their doctorate degree by summer 2018 are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto to support the work of Professor Spike W. S. Lee. The successful applicant will work closely with Professor Lee (cross-appointed in the Rotman School of Management and Department of Psychology) and collaborate with graduate students and senior undergraduate students in the Mind and Body Lab ( http://mindandbodylab.wixsite.com/mindandbodylab ) on a variety of research projects. Topics of current interest include grounded cognition, conceptual metaphor, mind-body relations, unconscious processes, morality, politics, culture, social class, social cognition, knowledge activation and use, and judgment and decision making. Expected start date and term: The target start date for the position is August 1, 2018, or as early as possible thereafter. This extramurally funded appointment will be for a term of two years, with the opportunity of renewal for additional years. FTE : The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week for a full-time postdoctoral fellow, recognizing that the needs of the employee’s research and training and the needs of the supervisor’s research program may require flexibility in the performance of the employee’s duties and hours of work. Required qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, or a closely related field by the time they start the Postdoctoral Fellowship. Publications and demonstrated interest within the research areas listed above and expertise in experimental research methods and techniques required to work within these established areas will be considered an asset. Training in philosophy of mind and competence in advanced data analysis and data visualization using R, cardiovascular psychophysiology, and eye-tracking will be valued as well.
