The Culture & Mental Health Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Southern California invites applications for a full-time clinical research postdoctoral research associate position. The responsibilities include overseeing and contributing to the collection of data from individuals with first-episode psychosis and their caregivers. We are assessing the implementation of a communication campaign to teach Spanish-speaking residents in the city of San Fernando and nearby communities in Los Angeles County to recognize psychosis. The position requires excellent Spanish language and English language skills, a strong background in clinical research, and very good oral presentation skills. Strong leadership skills are also needed, as the young scholar will oversee the work of project assistants. The position also requires flexibility and willingness to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The position is funded by the NIMH and the project goal is to reduce the duration of untreated psychosis among Spanish speaking Latinos. The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to contribute to publications and grant writing. Salary is consistent with NIH salary guidelines for postdoctoral research fellows.
