We are looking to hire two post-doctoral level researchers in the School of Psychology at Queen's University Belfast. Both posts require experience in research with human participants (PhD in Psychology or related area), but Post 1 is particularly geared towards those with experience in conducting research using Virtual Reality technology (PhD in Affective Computing, Computer Science, etc are also accepted).  Interested applicants can apply for one or both positions.  These posts are funded for two years from 23 December 2018 as part of an interdisciplinary project “Inclusion really does matter: Improving reactions to gender equality initiatives amongst academics in engineering and physical sciences.” This is a high profile project funded by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council UK) and led by Dr Ioana Latu, Professor Teresa McCormack, Professor Rhiannon Turner (Psychology, Queen’s University Belfast) and Dr Karen Rafferty (Computer Science, Queen’s University Belfast). The University of Glasgow and the University of Warwick are partner institutions in the project. PhD should be in Psychology or a related area such as Cognitive or Behavioural Science. Other areas will also be welcomed (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Affective Computing), if the candidate also has experience of conducting research involving human participants. Minimum of three years’ relevant research experience Experience of using quantitative research methodologies and techniques relevant to the research project. For example, experience in designing and running lab-based experiments. Experience of using statistical packages to analyse quantitative data Applicants with experience in designing and conducting studies using Virtual Reality Technology and psychophysiological measures are especially encouraged to apply.
