WILLIAMS COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Developmental Psychology , beginning July 1, 2019. The appointment will normally be at the assistant professor level, although a more senior appointment is possible under special circumstances. Scholars whose research will expand the research underway in our department in new directions and/or whose research program is integrative in scope are especially encouraged to apply. Our faculty members are active and productive researchers, benefitting from excellent internal support and a generous sabbatical program. The college provides research facilities and support (e.g., research funds, laboratory space, research assistants, conference and travel funds), as well as numerous mentoring opportunities in teaching and research. The yearly teaching load is two courses (or the equivalent) each semester plus a January Winter Study course every other year. Typical courses will include Introduction to Developmental Psychology; the developmental section of a team-taught Introductory Psychology course; and an upper-level research seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise, with an accompanying lab. Candidates will also join the teaching rotation for our Experimentation & Statistics course and an interdisciplinary senior seminar.
