Description

The Department of Psychology at Knox College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor beginning Fall 2020.  Knox is an independent, selective liberal arts institution with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Candidates should have a sincere interest in quality undergraduate teaching at an institution that values diversity and close interactions with students, as well as a desire to maintain an active research program. We are interested in candidates who are attentive to issues of diversity in their research and methods, have experience teaching a diverse student body, are attentive to issues of diversity and inclusion in their teaching and mentoring, and/or come from an underrepresented group themselves.

We are seeking a colleague who can offer courses and student research opportunities in clinical/counseling or cognitive psychology, broadly defined. A secondary interest or expertise in developmental or health psychology would also be a strength. The position involves a six-course teaching load that includes lower and/or upper level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, supervision of undergraduate research projects, and contributions to our introductory course and/or statistics/research methods sequence. Start-up funds are available.
