On July 1, 2018, Johnson State College and Lyndon State College joined to become Northern Vermont University, a two-campus institution of higher education that combines the best of our nationally recognized liberal arts and professional programs. Northern Vermont University-Lyndon and Northern Vermont University-Johnson are critical components of Vermont's higher-education infrastructure. Together they enroll nearly 2,300 students annually, and are main economic drivers and cultural centers in the northern tier of Vermont.
