Title: TENURE TRACK POSITION IN SOCIAL AND PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY – THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY – UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO Description: The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for an Assistant Professor level tenure-track faculty position in Social and Personality Psychology to begin August, 2019. The successful candidate will have a promising program of research in any area of Social and Personality Psychology, a potential to secure external funding for that research, and a capacity to contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The areas in which we seek additional expertise include, but are not limited to, interpersonal and intergroup relations (including social attitudes, stereotyping, prejudice, diversity, culture, social influence, social networks, intergroup interactions) and social cognition and personality dynamics (emotions and their cognitive and biological bases; self-concept; motivation and self-regulation, the dynamics of person-situation interaction and social development). The Department is home to a Ph.D. program and provides ample opportunities and facilities for research, including in collaboration with the UIC Center for Magnetic Resonance Research. As a Department located within a highly diverse urban public research university that is a federally designated Minority-Serving Institution, we are particularly committed to diversifying our faculty.
