Psychology Department, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor (AA# 48-7-245). The appointment will begin in Fall 2018. The department is particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrated teaching/research/applied background. There are two areas of interest for this one position: Candidates with expertise in either Community, Clinical, or Counseling Psychology and candidates with a background in Sociocultural Diversity. Job responsibilities include teaching service courses as well as upper level and senior seminar courses at the undergraduate level in the candidate’s area of expertise, advising undergraduate majors, maintaining an active program of research that involves undergraduate students, and contributing service to the university and local communities. The teaching load is four courses per semester.    A doctorate in Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution is required by August 17, 2018. Preference will be given to those candidates whose teaching/research/applied backgrounds directly relate to one [or both] of the two desired areas of specialty. Applicants with a Ph.D. in Psychology and college-level teaching experience of courses relevant to Community, Clinical, or Counseling Psychology and/or courses that emphasize sociocultural diversity (e.g., Psychology of Gender, Race, and/or Sexuality) also will receive preference. Applicants should show proficiency with contemporary instructional technologies and demonstrate the ability to work with diverse populations. Finalist(s) for this position must have good communication skills and successfully complete an interview process that includes a teaching demonstration or research presentation as judged by the department faculty.
