The Seeing Human Laboratory at McGill University in Montreal [], directed by Eric Hehman, is seeking applications for a Post-Doctoral Researcher, beginning Fall 2018. The contract is for one year, but planning for renewal pending excellent performance.  POSITION DESCRIPTION: The ideal candidate will be interested in contributing to on-going research trajectories in the lab. One trajectory broadly examines social cognitive processes involved in person perception, social categorization, and stereotyping, and particularly how these processes might vary across group boundaries (e.g., gender, race, sexuality, minimal, etc). The other examines how geographic variation in psychological constructs (e.g., prejudice) is associated with outcomes of societal significance. The post-doc could be interested in either, or both, of these areas of research.  The lab uses a wide variety of techniques, including diverse behavioral (e.g., computer mouse-tracking, digital face modeling, group interactions), neural (e.g., EEG), and statistical techniques (e.g., multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, machine-learning, geo-spatial, big data approaches).  QUALIFICATIONS: Competitive candidates will have a PhD in psychology or a related discipline by the time of appointment; a strong track record of research and interest in topics such as person perception, intergroup relations, prejudice and stereotyping. Candidates with programming experience or expertise in MLM, SEM, machine-learning, spatial analyses are desired but expertise in all these areas is not required.  Salary will be benchmarked above the SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship pay scale at $45K per annum plus benefits.
