The Department of Psychological Science at Ball State University welcomes applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 2027. The successful applicant will teach in our undergraduate psychological science major and master’s program in psychology, have a research program that complements our department’s current research interests and that involves undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the service activities of our department and discipline.
Our department includes twenty-one full-time faculty members who deliver excellent teaching, conduct high-quality research, and foster student-faculty mentorships. Support for this work is offered through research resources (e.g., grant supporting office); professional development opportunities (e.g., teaching training) and faculty mentorship.

Position Function: We are seeking applicants who teach and conduct research in clinical or counseling psychology, particularly psychopathology, personality, psychological assessment, health psychology, and/or research/methodology courses.
Duties and Responsibilities: teach graduate and undergraduate classes in the Department of Psychological Science programs; supervise graduate and/or undergraduate student research (e.g., honors theses); remain current in and contribute to research in specialty area; contribute to the service activities of the department and discipline.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in psychology or related field from an accredited institution. ABDs will be considered if the doctorate is obtained by date of appointment. Clinical and Counseling PhDs must be from APA or CPA accredited programs.
Preferred Qualifications: Special consideration will be given to applicants who can teach one or more of the following: psychopathology, personality, psychological assessment, health psychology, and research/methodology courses.
