Position Description: The Department of Psychology at McGill University invites applications to fill a tenure-track academic position in Child Clinical Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Our CPA- and PCSAS-accredited program has been actively building a Child and Adolescent Stream, and we are looking to expand our contingent of tenure-track faculty to support growth in this area. Our program houses a departmental training clinic that is supported by a Director and Assistant Director and in which students complete their assessment and initial psychotherapy training. The Department has excellent facilities for interdisciplinary research, including through its links with related academic departments and research units in the McGill University Health Centre (including the Montreal Children’s Hospital) and the Montreal Neurological Institute.
Job Duties:
Applications can be from those whose research programs fit into any area of child clinical psychology. We are particularly interested in candidates doing work complementing the strengths of the existing faculty, such as the development of internalizing and/or externalizing problems, links between stress exposure and psychopathology, or interventions with children and adolescents. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive and internationally recognized research program, obtain external funding, teach graduate-and undergraduate-level courses, supervise graduate and undergraduate research, and contribute to service.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology by the time of appointment.
