ARRT Postdoctoral Fellowship in IDD Research

The ARRT Postdoctoral Fellowship Program housed in the Texas Center for Disability Studies (TCDS) at the School of Social Work (SSW), University of Texas at Austin is seeking postdoctoral trainees interested in community-engaged research on intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

We are particularly interested in postdoctoral fellows who are bilingual (English/Spanish), have prior experience with assessments (e.g., Bayley Scales, ADOS-2), and are eager to learn and build an impactful research program!

Training involves:

• Research match with  two (2) mentors Current mentors from the School of Social Work, Department of Special Education, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Department of Neuroscience, and Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences
• Hands-on training in participatory and community-engaged research methods, for example:
  • Developmental trajectories of young children with Down syndrome
  • Improving autism diagnostic evaluations for Latino children
  • Adapting mental health interventions for autistic youth and adults
  • Measuring meaningful health outcomes for adults with IDD
• Formal coursework, seminars, and structured support for publishing, presenting, and grantwriting
